Metropolitan Pavilion New York: About

The Metropolitan Pavilion New York is an exhibition venue located in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan in New York City. Opened in 1992, the 45,000 sq ft (4,200 m²) venue offers four loft event spaces in one location. The Metropolitan Pavilion is situated next door to the old Altman Building, and on occasion, the two connected buildings are utilized as one extra-large event space.

The Metropolitan Pavilion New York has been host to comic book conventions, toy shows, art exhibitions, film festivals, fashion shows, food festivals, fencing tournaments, political fundraisers, weddings, and other gala events. These events include the Big Apple Comic Con, the Pinta Art Show, the Outsider Art Fair, and the American Folk Art Museum.

The Metropolitan Pavilion was established in 1992 at 110 West 19th Street in Manhattan by entrepreneur Alan Boss who had a background in flea markets and vintage clothing. In 1999, the venue was expanded through the block, and changed its main address to 125 West 18th Street.

Metropolitan Pavilion offers four event spaces in one prime location. A range of concierge and event production services are also available. It is a uniquely versatile, proven and reliable destination for special events for nearly 30 years.

The Full Pavilion (25,000 square feet) provides a polished American oak floor, 12 to 16-foot ceiling heights and a retractable sound wall to scale the room for smaller events.
The Metropolitan Suite (8,500 square feet) features dark flooring of sustainably-harvested oak, 16-foot ceilings, and north and south exposures.
The Gallery (7,000 square feet) has a poured, white resin floor of brilliant sheen and a 1,500 square foot breakout room.
The Level (7,500 square feet) offers cove lighting and oak flooring of warm tones.
Floors can be combined via an interior staircase and 20-person elevator.
