CARAT+ Antwerp 2019: Event Profile

CARAT+ is The World’s Premier Diamond Event, covering the full spectrum of the diamond and diamond jewellery trades. The show specialises in four sectors: loose diamonds, branded diamond jewellery, non-branded diamond jewellery and services for the diamond jewellery industry.

A unique celebration of the diamond in all its facets, CARAT+ is designed to showcase the most important product class in the jewellery market, filling a gap in the international trade show arena. From Sunday 10 February until Tuesday 12 February, 2019, Antwerp Expo opens up for all professionals in the Diamond industryfor the second edition of the world’s premier diamond event.

1st day @ CARAT+ Antwerp 2019

The World’s Premier Diamond Event returns for a second year, welcoming leading diamond industry professionals from across the globe. With new features and a programme of talks and seminars hosted by leading industry experts, our must-attend show is set to be bigger and bolder when it opens.

CARAT+ Main Partner AWDC (Antwerp World Diamond Centre) and innovation strategy and business consultancy firm, Junction, will give the final six teams participating in the inaugural Hack4Diamonds event – designed to solve the challenges in the diamond sector – the chance to present their forward-thinking ideas to CARAT+ exhibitors and visitors. Don’t miss your chance to see how pioneering minds specialising in computer science, marketing, business management, blockchain and artificial intelligence propose to combat challenges in the diamond sector.

By Invitation Only: CARAT+ Night with special guest Elizabeth Hurley

By invitation only, our exclusive and highly-anticipated CARAT+ Night event will take place on the opening evening of CARAT+. We will be joined by glamorous British actress and model, Elizabeth Hurley, as show ambassador and special guest. The iconic film and TV star will open CARAT+ Night, before meeting exhibitors and discovering the loose diamonds, diamond jewellery and coloured gemstones on display.

2nd Day @ CARAT+ Antwerp 2019

On the second day of the show, the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) will offer an update on its activities and address current issues and challenges in the diamond trade. Speakers will include RJC Executive Director, Andrew Bone, and Director of Business Development, Edward Johnson. Avi Krawitz, Senior Analyst and News Editor at Rapaport, will host a talk titled, ‘Unstuck From the Rock and the Hard Place’, focusing on the squeeze on the diamond trade and how to “navigate a market where the only constant is change”. His insightful presentation will offer an overview of the issues impacting diamond dealers and manufacturers, while exploring solutions for businesses in the midstream to grow in today’s difficult environment.

3rd Day @ CARAT+ Antwerp 2019

On the final day of CARAT+, Katrien De Corte, Chief Officer of Education at diamond grading specialists, HRD Antwerp, will present on new solutions for the identification of synthetic diamonds, including the company’s new ‘D-Tect’ device that will be launched at CARAT+.

Our debut coloured gemstones sector gets underway at CARAT+ 2018. This carefully curated show feature hosts world-renowned exhibitors, offering a vast array of loose coloured gemstones, gemstone sets, fantasy cuts, carvings and show-stopping stones.
