Arab Union of The Manufacturers of Pharmaceuticals and Medical Appliances (AUPAM):
AUPAM has the permanent headquarters in Amman, Jordan. The AUPAM is one of the Arab joint action organizations within the Arab Union of Arab Economic Unions, which operates under the umbrella of the Council of Arab Economic Unity. The Federation was founded in 1986 by a decision of the Arab Economic Unity Council, following a recommendation by the Arab Health Ministers Council. The mission of the Union is to achieve the highest level of Arab medical security by achieving the following strategies:
- Developing the manufacture of Arab medicine and providing it to the citizen with the lowest cost and the highest quality
- Encourage the establishment of a common Arab pharmaceutical market
- Encourage the manufacture of raw materials and packaging materials
- Develop and co-ordinate the areas of work of its members and strengthen the links between them
The Federation has a Board of Directors representing Arab pharmaceutical industries from all Arab countries. Since its establishment, the Federation has worked on a series of Technology Seminars, Conferences, Technology based Workshops and publishing.
